My race goal(s): Hmm...to beat Dooley by a lot!  Competition will keep me hungry.

Why this race: Third time's the charm.  IMLP05: Broken chain at mile 22, inexperienced, newbie, 13-hour finish, unfinished business. IMLP06: Sub-12, great race, satisfied. Ross,"That was not your best Ironman." (?!)

My power phrase: "Hoka Hai!" (Lakota Sioux) or translated from Klingon, "Today is a good day to die!"

My race goal(s): My goals have changed all year long so to finish would be good, but under 11 hours would be even better.

Why this race: No special reason other than I have a passion for endurance sports.

My race goal(s): 1) To put one foot in front of the other until I can call myself an Ironman. 2) Time goal TBD. 3) To waste lots of calories smiling and cheering for my teammates.

Why this race: Because it's there.  To push myself to limits I only dreamed possible.  To hang out with people just as nuts as I am.

Why this race: Logically- to defy the logic of doing it. Illogically- because I need to prove that I can still do this race even if only to survive Trilife training to get there???

Why this race: Need to do redeem myself for last year's marathon during IM and if I do, I promise (to my very patient husband), that I will never, ever do this again!!

Why this race: IM is a calling. I do it because to not do it would mean not pushing myself to the limit.

My power phrase: I don't have a power phrase. I think positively and ambitiously about all aspects of my life. However, if I'm really struggling up a hill on my bike, I count pedal strokes.

Why this race: To push myself beyond limits I once deemed unimaginable, unattainable, and undeniably ludicrous! Oh yeah, and b/c it’s the weekend of my 30th birthday…what a way to ring in my 30’s.  So, hopefully, my goal of living through this will play out ;-)

My power phrase: I don’t really have one, but I’ve gotten really good at counting to 4!  1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, repeat.

Why this race: After completing 5 Ironmans with minimal training, I'm curious to see what I can do when I actually train- also love the countryside around Lake Placid which makes it tolerable to spend such along day competing in a race.

Why this race: I am competing in this Ironman to raise money for the Cindy Lynn Sherwin Memorial Foundation. I told Cindy I would never do an Ironman but would be there to cheer her on. Now I know she is with me during training and will push me on race day.

Why this race: An accident a while ago resulting in a complete redirection of life. It was a very long time of withstanding things I could not do that led me to challenge myself to something I know I can.
